PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Stony Brook men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2026 season, falling to Drexel, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon. The Seawolves move to 2-1-5 overall and 0-1-2 in CAA play.
Drexel opened the scoring at the 8:52 mark when Weller found the back of the net to give the Dragons an early 1-0 advantage. Stony Brook responded just over six minutes later, as Farr leveled the match 1-1 in the 15th minute.Â
Tobias Hansen and
Alex Fleury recorded the assists on Farr's tally.
The Seawolves continued to apply pressure following the equalizer.
Nelson Reynoso put an attempt on frame in the 20th minute before Fleury sent a shot just over the crossbar moments later.
Olsen Aluc provided another pair of quality chances late in the opening half, forcing a save in the 36th minute before having another attempt kept out in the 43rd.
Stony Brook carried the 1-1 score into halftime after holding a 5-2 advantage in shots during the opening 45 minutes.
Drexel increased its attacking pressure after the break and broke the deadlock in the 64th minute when Diallo scored to put the Dragons ahead, 2-1. Less than a minute later, Stony Brook was reduced to 10 men following a red card issued to
Sebastian Drummond.
Despite playing a man down for the final 25 minutes, the Seawolves continued to battle, but were unable to find a second equalizer.
Heidar Hermannsson finished the afternoon with five saves in goal for Stony Brook. Aluc led the Seawolves with three shots, including two on target, while Farr, Reynoso, Fleury and
Nokkvi Hjorvarsson each registered an attempt. Drexel finished with a 10-7 advantage in shots and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.

Stony Brook is back at home Tuesday, September 22, for a non-conference matchup against Rhode Island. Kick off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
