OPENING KICK

• This marks the 10th all-time meeting between Stony Brook and Fordham dating back to 1987. The Seawolves own a 5-4 record in the series.
• The last meeting between the two teams came on Sept. 13, 2025, when the Seawolves took down the Rams 41-18 at LaValle Stadium for their first victory of the season. Chris Zellous tossed three touchdowns, rushed for another and finished with 308 total yards.
• In their last time out, Stony Brook took down No. 8/13 Rhode Island 56-24 behind four rushing touchdowns by CJ Hester and three more by Jeremiah Coney to lead the Seawolves to victory at LaValle Stadium.
• The victory marked the first ranked win for the Seawolves since 2024, when they defeated No. 15 William & Mary. It was also their first victory over a top-10 opponent since taking down No. 5 Villanova in 2019.
• Quarterback Quinn Boyd was named CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday morning. It marked his first weekly honor of the season and third of his career after being named CAA Rookie of the Week twice last season on Nov. 10 and Nov. 14. Boyd accounted for 351 yards of offense as Stony Brook knocked off No. 8 Rhode Island, 56-24, ending URI's 11-game CAA winning streak. The redshirt sophomore rushed for a career-high 153 yards on 14 carries and completed 17-of-24 passes for 198 yards.
• Boyd is leading Stony Brook's offense, which ranks first in the CAA in scoring at 35.8 points per game. He ranks among the top three in the conference in passing yards (966), passing touchdowns (6) and completion percentage (65.2).
• Following the victory over URI, the Stony Brook football team was named the FCS National Team of the Week by Stats Perform. The win was Stony Brook's highest-ranked victory at LaValle Stadium since defeating No. 14/15 Delaware in 2021.
• Stony Brook currently owns a two-game winning streak over Fordham under Billy Cosh after falling to the Rams three straight times from 2021-23.
• Anthony Ferrelli was selected as a semifinalist for the prestigious William V. Campbell Trophy. The Campbell Trophy recognizes an individual as the best scholar-athlete in the nation for combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.
• Fordham enters the game with a 1-3 record this season, taking down No. 21 William & Mary 52-27 in Williamsburg.
• The Rams rushed for 428 yards, their most rushing yards since Fordham set the school record with 516 yards against Lafayette in 2016.
• The running game was led by the one-two punch of sophomore Yohan-Li Louis and senior Jamell James. Louis gained 203 yards on just 15 carries with one score, while James accumulated 163 yards on 17 rushes with three scores.
• It was the first time Fordham had two 100-yard rushers in a game since Julius Loughridge (121) and Trey Sneed (104) at Holy Cross in 2022.

LAST TIME OUT

• The Stony Brook football team took down No. 8/13 Rhode Island 56-24 on Saturday behind four rushing touchdowns by CJ Hester and three more by Jeremiah Coney to lead the Seawolves to victory at LaValle Stadium.
• The victory marked the first ranked win for the Seawolves since 2024, when they defeated No. 15 William & Mary. It was also their first victory over a top-10 opponent since taking down No. 5 Villanova in 2019.
• Hester finished with 78 yards on 18 carries, while Coney had 90 yards on 20 carries. Quinn Boyd was also impactful on the ground with a career-high 155 yards on 14 carries. The quarterback was also 17-of-24 through the air with 198 yards and a touchdown.
• The defense had several impactful outings in the victory as Lance Byndon, Miles McGoy and Jojo Garcia all registered a team-best eight tackles. Byndon had 3.0 tackles for loss, including 1.5 sacks, while Sebastian Regis and Maurice Seals each registered a sack.
• Kareem Hector also had his first career interception.
• The Seawolves were a perfect 7-for-7 in the red zone.
• The squad was 10-for-14 on third down in the victory.
• The Stony Brook defense recorded eight tackles for loss, while URI recorded just three.
• Stony Brook has now won seven straight games at LaValle Stadium dating back to last season.
• The Seawolves snapped URI's four-game winning streak in the series with their first victory over the Rams since 2021.
• Stony Brook is now 8-4 all-time against Rhode Island.

BOYD EARNS CAA CO-POTW

• The Stony Brook football team continues to receive recognition from the CAA as quarterback Quinn Boyd was named CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
• This marks the second time in the last three weeks that a Seawolf has earned weekly offensive honors after Seth Sweitzer was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 7 following his performance against Lindenwood.
• For Boyd, this marks his first weekly honor of the season and third of his career after being named CAA Rookie of the Week twice last season on Nov. 10 and Nov. 14.
• The redshirt sophomore rushed for a career-high 153 yards on 14 carries and completed 17-of-24 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown as the Seawolves piled up 519 total yards and defeated a top-10 opponent for the first time since 2019.

FERRELLI SELECTED AS CAMPBELL SEMIFINALIST

• Redshirt senior linebacker Anthony Ferrelli has been chosen as a semifinalist for the prestigious William V. Campbell Trophy, as announced by the National Football Foundation on Wednesday morning.
• The Campbell Trophy recognizes an individual as the best scholar-athlete in the nation for combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.
• A preseason All-American and Buck Buchanan Award preseason nominee, Ferrelli ranks third on the team with 26.0 tackles this season, including 2.5 tackles for loss.
• It marks the sixth time in the last seven seasons that a Stony Brook student-athlete has been named a semifinalist for the award. Ferrelli (2026) joins Clayton Taylor (2025), RJ Lamarre (2024), Aidan Kaler (2023), Kyle Nunez (2022) and TJ Morrison (2020). Ferrelli is also one of four CAA student-athletes named a semifinalist for the award.
• A Preseason All-CAA selection, Stats Perform Preseason FCS All-American and 2026 Buck Buchanan Award Watch List recipient, Ferrelli has accumulated 251 tackles in 37 games over four seasons. He also has 18 tackles for loss, five sacks, eight pass deflections, one interception and two fumble recoveries.
• He is currently eight tackles away from passing Dom Reyes (259) and moving into the top 10 in Stony Brook career tackles.

ABOUT THE RAMS

• Led by ninth-year head coach Joe Conlin, the Rams enter the game with a 1-3 record this season. They defeated No. 21 William & Mary and fell to Colgate, North Dakota State and Coastal Carolina.
• Sophomore running back Yohan-Li Louis was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 203 yards on 15 carries with one touchdown in the victory over No. 21 William & Mary last week.
• As a team, the Rams ran for 428 yards last Saturday, the most in a single game in the FCS this season.
• Senior linebacker Andrew Osmun and senior long snapper Michael Doctor were named preseason All-Patriot League.
• Fordham will be represented by five captains in 2026: senior wide receiver Ricky Gonzalez II, senior center Dylan Haines, senior linebacker Andrew Osmun, graduate student defensive lineman Colby Spencer and senior quarterback Gunnar Smith.
• After going 1-11 a season ago, the Rams were selected to finish tied for eighth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll.
• The Rams are currently ninth in the FCS in sacks per game (3.25), while Andrew Osmun ranks 18th in the FCS in tackles per game (10.0).
