Bueno Named CAA Co-Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. - After leading the Seawolves to a 31-16 victory over Fordham on Saturday afternoon, redshirt freshman Khalid Bueno has been named the CAA Co-Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday morning.

Bueno earns his first career weekly honor from the CAA and joins Seth Sweitzer and Quinn Boyd as Seawolves who have already earned weekly awards this season.

The Philadelphia native recorded five tackles, 3.0 sacks and two quarterback hurries as Stony Brook defeated Fordham, 31-16. Two of Bueno's three sacks came in the fourth quarter as SBU held the Rams to just three second-half points.

This season, Bueno leads the FCS with 7.5 sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss. He has recorded at least 2.0 TFLs in four games this season.

Stony Brook will return to action after its bye week when it battles Towson in Maryland on Oct. 10. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on FloCollege. The Seawolves will look to extend their two-game winning streak over the Tigers during the Cosh era.
