Senior Dominic D'Orazio scored three goals to lead Stony Brook to a 12-5 win over Providence College in men's lacrosse action on April 5 in Providence, R.I.
Stony Brook got off to a 3-1 lead after one quarter of play thanks to the natural hat trick from D'Orazio, scoring all three of his goals after Providence took a 1-0 lead. Sophomore Chris Houston drew the Friars within 3-2 early in the second quarter, but the Seawolves scored eight straight times to take control of the games.
Junior Jesse Foss turned in his best effort as a Seawolf, tallying a goal and three assists on the afternoon. Sophomore Kevin Pall added two goals, marking the sixth straight multiple goal game for the second-year attackman. He now leads the team in goals scored with 16. Matt Campollettano also scored twice while Phil Archabald, Jon Tompkins, Denis Scannell and Nick Ceballos chipped in with single tallies for Stony Brook.
D'Orazio finished the day with five points, adding two assists to his hat trick to give him 99 career points. He looks to become the 12th player in the program's history to record 100 points this Saturday against Georgetown. The Seawolves improved their record to 2-6 on the year and host the No. 6 Hoyas this Saturday. Face-off is 1:00 p.m.
