Men's Basketball Goes Down To Charleston, 76-55

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Jody Lumpkin scored 16 points and Jeff Bolton added 13 as the College of Charleston defeated Stony Brook 76-55 Wednesday night.

The Cougars' (15-2) Tyrone Nelson hit a 3-pointer before the end of the half to give Charleston a 33-19 halftime lead.

Stony Brook's (9-9) Leon Brisport scored the first four points at the beginning of the second half to cut the Cougars' led to 33-23.

The Cougars responded with a 13-2 run to take a 45-25 lead with 15:32 left in the game. Charleston has won six consecutive games and 13 straight at home.

The Seawolves shot 43 percent from the field while the Cougars managed 52 percent. Charleston was 6-for-9 from 3-point land.

The Cougars outrebounded the Seawolves 36-17.

Mike Konopka came off the bench to give Stony Brook 16 points. He was 8-for-8 from the free throw line and had six rebounds.

Charleston's A.J. Harris had a game-high eight assists and six points.
