Cross Country Finishes Sixth At America East Championships

Orono, Maine - The men's and women's cross country teams each finished in sixth place out of nine teams at the America East Championships at the University of Maine on Saturday. Boston University won the women's title while New Hampshire captured the men's championship.

Senior Jenny Payne led the women with a ninth-place individual finish, completing the 5000m race in 18:09.90. Freshman Laura Hixson captured the next highest spot for the Seawolves, recording a time of 18:47.00 for the 20th spot.Junior Jackie Berman was 29th with a time of 19:08.00.

For the men's team, it was senior Dave deWolfe leading the way, as he finished the 8000m in 25:30.70 for the 19th spot. Senior Mike Thompson wasn't too far behind, as his time of 25:37.70 was good for 24th-place. Junior Jonathan Brims was 30th with a time of 26:03.70.
