Final Stats

Moraga, Calif. - Allyson Keener hit 5-of-7 three-pointers to lead James Madison (3-1) to an 80-58 win over Stony Brook (1-3) in the consolation game of the St. Mary's Classic in Moraga, Calif., Saturday night.

The Seawolves came out strong, leading by as many as seven when Jill George's layup gave them a 19-17 edge with 12:28 left before halftime. The Dukes responded with a 10-0 run to go up 22-19. Theresa LoParrino's free throw with 8:45 left ended the drought, and the sophomore later drilled a three-pointer to give Stony Brook a 25-23 lead with just over five minutes to go before the break.

But that would be the last lead the Seawolves would enjoy, as the Dukes went on another 10-0 run to close the half for a 33-25 lead.

The Dukes stretched the lead to as many as 27 points in the second half, going ahead 62-35 with 9:90 left. Keener scored 15 of her points and all five of her shots behind the arc in the second stanze, and the Seawolves could get no closer than 19 the rest of the game. A JMU three at the buzzer gave the Dukes the final 22-point margin of victory.

Keener's 18 points led all scorers, and JMU placed three others in double figures.

Jill George led Stony Brook with her 10th career double-double of 13 points and 11 boards. Danyelle Ingram continued her solid play, scoring 12 points, and Theresa LoParrino also chipped in with 12 on 3-of-8 shooting from three-point range. Sherry Jordan added eight points and six rebounds for the Seawolves.

Stony Brook returns to action next weekend when the Seawolves play host to the HIE Tournament at Stony Brook. The Seawolves face Pennsylvania in the first round on Friday, Nov. 30.
