Box Score

WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) - Army led most of the way and beat Stony Brook 68-52 Tuesday, avenging an earlier loss to close out its regular season.

The Black Knights (9-18), who lost 79-66 to the Seawolves in December, won a second straight game for only the second time this season.

Stony Brook (17-11) lost for only the third time in its last 13 games.

Army built a 32-27 halftime lead behind nine points from Dax Pearson and six each from seniors Joe Clark and Seth Barrett. Stony Brook cut the margin to 34-30 with 18:58 left, but got no closer.

Army scored the game's next eight points, including four from Chris Spatola, the Patriot League's leading scorer.

Stony Brook was unable to get closer than 13 in the final 10 minutes.

Pearson finished with 18 points, and Spatola had 14. That moved the junior into 21st place on Army's career scoring list with 1,057 points.

Barrett had nine points and four rebounds in his final home game, which put him 17th on the Academy's career rebounding chart with 454.
