Durham, N.H. - The Stony Brook women's soccer team posted a 1-1 tie with America East rival New Hampshire Friday afternoon. The tie improves Stony Brook's record to 0-3-1 overall while UNH moves to 1-2-3.

The Seawolves got on the board first at 9:53 of the first half when Beth Arikian hammered home a restart from 25 yards out. Wildcat goalie Kristen Ouellette jumped, but couldn't reach Arikian's shot that found the top right corner. SB lead at the half, 1-0.

UNH controlled play early in the second half and netted the equalizer just 10 minutes into the period. Junior forward Courtney Papaz headed home a cross from Farrell Swain to knot the score at 1-1.

The Seawolves outshot the Wildcats 31-14. Lori Nelson made three saves for SB while Ouellette stopped 13 shots.

SB is back in action on Sunday when it takes on Maine in an America East matchup. Kick-off is 1 p.m.
