Men's Hoops Edges Binghamton, 66-62

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) - Dawud Munir scored a game-high 24 points and JonPaul Kobryn added 19 to lead Stony Brook past Binghamton, 66-62, on Tuesday.

The Seawolves (3-14) went on a 9-0 run in a span of 4:21 to take a 15-7 lead with 11:34 left to go in the first half. The Bearcats (6-10) answered an 11-4 run to cut the lead to 19-18 with 4:30 remaining before halftime.

Binghamton scored the first six points of the second half to take a 32-30 lead. The Bearcats extended the lead to 40-33 on back-to-back three pointers by Andrew Hannan.

Stony Brook rebounded to tie the game at 44-44 with 11:00 left to go. Binghamton trimmed the lead to 62-61 as Jeffrey St. Fort hit one of two free throws with 50 seconds left.

With 13 seconds to go, Binghamton was down 64-62 and had a chance to send the game into overtime, but Jeff Daws was unable to connect on jumper from 10-foot jumper with three seconds to go.

Hannan led Binghamton with a career-high 18 points. Mike Wright added 12 points.
