Albany Trips Up Women's Soccer 2-0

Albany, N.Y. - Erin Stanek and Christie Cremo each scored in the second half to lead Albany to a 2-0 America East Conference win over Stony Brook on Sunday afternoon at Varsity Field. The Great Danes ended a 14-match winless streak in conference play with the victory.

Stanek, a senior, broke a scoreless tie when she intercepted goalkeeper Lauren Kohn's attempted clear and sent a shot into the left side of the net at 62:51. Cremo tallied her second goal of the season for insurance with six minutes and 22 seconds remaining. The freshman midfielder scored on a 25-yard blast that glanced off the left post.

Sophomore goalkeeper Beth Spinelli registered her second career shutout by making 12 saves, including seven in the opening period. Kohn, a freshman, totaled three saves for Stony Brook (2-8-2, AE 0-1-1).
