NEW YORK (AP) - Bobby Santiago scored 17 points and Mike Orfini added 14 as
Stony Brook beat winless Columbia 65-56 Wednesday night, the Lions' ninth
straight loss.
Columbia (0-6) lost its final three games last season and has dropped 13 of
14.
Santiago scored 13 points in the opening 15:54 as the Seawolves took a 28-18
halftime lead.
Stony Brook (3-2) scored the game's first six points before the Lions went
ahead briefly, 7-6, on Marco McCottry's dunk. But JonPaul Kobryn scored on an
offensive rebound to put the Seawolves back ahead, and they never trailed
again.
McCottry had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Columbia, which was missing three
starters with various injuries, while Jeremiah Boswell and Tito Hill each had
11 points.
Hendrik Feist had 10 points for the Seawolves.
