Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook freshman Bobby Santiago (Bronx, N.Y./All Hallows) was named America East Rookie of the Week, the America East announced Monday. For Santiago, it was the second time this season that he has earned the honor.

Santiago averaged 20 points and four assists in two games, leading Stony Brook to a pair of wins. He notched a season-high 23 points against Rhode Island College and came back to hit for a team-high 17 points in a 65-56 win over Columbia on December 4. Santiago shot 13-of-20 from the floor, including 9-of-14 from three-point range, in the two games.

Santiago currently leads the team in scoring at 15.4 ppg. and assists (3.8 apg.). Stony Brook (3-2) is back in action on Thursday when it hosts Army at 7 p.m.
