Women's Soccer Falls to Binghamton 1-0

Vestal, N.Y. - Tatiana Mathelier scored with 45 seconds left in the first half to lead Binghamton to a 1-0 victory over Stony Brook in an America East Conference women's soccer match on Saturday afternoon at West Gym Field. With the loss, the Seawolves fell to 5-6-1 overall and 1-2 in conference play, while the Bearcats improved to 7-5-2 and 1-2-1.

With time winding down in the first half, Kelly Sanders took control of the ball near midfield and fired the ball to Mathelier inside the box. She then fired the pass into the back of the net to give the Bearcats the the 1-0 lead.

Goalkeeper Kristie Bowers made six saves for the Bearcats and recorded her fifth shutout of the season, while Cindy Bennett made six saves in the loss for the Seawolves.

For the game, Binghamton outshot Stony Brook 12-10.
