Jackie Nunez Wins the Met Cross Country Championships

Bronx, N.Y. - Senior Jackie Nunez earned her third consecutive victory this season at the Met Championships at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday afternooon. Nunez, who captured the 5k race in a time of 18:03.1, was the first athlete in Stony Brook history to win an individual title at the meet.

The Seawolves, who competed without three of their top runners, finished seventh out of 14 teams.

On the men's side, Dale Summerville finished ninth overall in a personal best 26:04.2 for the 5 mile course. He was followed home in 18th place by Brian Farrell in 26:28.7, who also posted a personal record on the course.

The men's team finished eighth overall, an improvement from 12th place a year ago.
