Women's Lax Rolls Past Siena 13-9

Schenectady, N.Y. - Marrisa Trachtenberg scored four goals while Danielle Werner and Stephanie DeGennaro each added three as the Seawolves rallied to beat Siena 13-9 in women's lacrosse action Thursday afternoon at Union College. With the win, Stony Brook improved to 3-2 while Siena's record evened at 1-1.

The Saints started quickly, jumping out to a 4-1 lead 20 minutes into the game but the Seawolves would rally in this one.

The Seawolves battled back, scoring six of the game's next seven goals to take a 7-5 lead. Marrisa Trachtenberg scored three of her team-high four goals in the run that gave Stony Brook control. After taking a 7-6 lead into the half, Stony Brook scored the first two goals of the second half and Siena never pulled closer than two the rest of the game.

In addition to Trachtenberg's four goals, DeGennaro and Werner each added three goals and two assists. SB also got goals from Judith Pane, Jill Gridley and Kerri McCabe.

Gina DeNezzo made nine saves to earn the win in goal for Stony Brook.
