Stony Brook, N.Y. - Marissa Servello, sophomore second baseman for the Stony Brook softball team, received one of two Debbie Whittemore Memorial Scholarship awards. The scholarship is presented to student-athletes who have displayed academic excellence and significant contributions to student life and athletics on the Stony Brook campus.

The scholarship honors the memory of Debbie Whittemore, a former student athletic trainer and intramural employee.

Servello started all 58 games for the Seawolves and batted .216 on the year with 35 hits and 15 RBI. She received Most Improved Player honors.
