Women's Soccer Runs Past Binghamton 2-0

Vestal, N.Y. - Kristin Mishrell and Kelly Bahnsen scored goals to lead the Stony Brook women's soccer team to a 2-0 road win over Binghamton Sunday afternoon. The win improves Stony Brook to 6-6-3 overall, 3-2 in America East action. Binghamton fell to 9-4-1, 3-2.

Mishrell broke a scoreless tie in the 35th minute on an assist from Chelsea Van Horn. Van Horn fired a shot that hit the inside of the goal post and deflected across the face of the goal to Mishrell who knocked it in for her second goal of the season.

Late in the second half, Victoria Feliciano chipped a pass behind the Binghamton defense to an onrushing Bahnsen who lofted a shot over the Binghamton goalkeeper to the far post at 80:13 for a 2-0 lead.

Goalkeeper Cindy Bennett made seven saves to earn the shutout, her sixth of the season.

The Seawolves are back in action Friday when they hit the road to face Northeastern. Kick-off is 6 p.m.
