Women's Soccer Falls to New Hampshire 2-1

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Victoria Feliciano struck early for the Seawolves, but New Hampshire's Chiara Best rallied the Wildcats with two goals to down the Seawolves, Thursday night at LaValle Stadium. With the loss, Stony Brook falls to 6-8-4 overall and 3-4-1 in the America East, while the Wildcats improve their record to 9-7-2 overall and 5-3 in conference play.

Feliciano put the Seawolves on the board at the 11:11 mark on assists from Kristin Mishrell and Marisa Nucci to put the Seawolves up 1-0. Stony Brook took the lead into the second half, but early in the second half, Best evened the game at 1-1. She beat her defender for a one-on-one with Seawolves goalkeeper, Cindy Bennett, and slipped the ball past Bennett seven minutes into the second half.

Best struck again at the 81:07 mark, blasting a loose ball into the Seawolves' goal from 20-yards out to give the Wildcats the advantage. Bennett finished with four saves on the game, while New Hampshire goalkeeper, Lynn Gugliuzza, scooped up five Stony Brook shots in the win.

The Seawolves are back in action Saturday for a 11:00 a.m. Friends and Family Day game against Maine to close out the America East season.
