For the first time in the history of the program, the Stony Brook men's cross country team captured the University Division title at the IC4A Championships on Saturday at Van Cortlandt Park. Dale Summerville led the way for the Seawolves, finishing third overall.
Summerville, who equalled his best time on the Van Cortlandt Park course, was third in 25:27 over the five mile distance. Summerville was followed by Brian Farrell (fifth, 25:37), Mathew Almond (seventh, 25:55), Shaun Krawitz (15th, 26:18) and Andrew Sinnott (28th, 26:39), who all set personal bests for the course.
With a team score of 58 points, the Seawolves earned the school's first IC4A title. Army finished second with 82 points.
