Stony Brook, N.Y. - Sophomore Mitchell Beauford picks up Stony Brook Athlete of the Week honors after leading the men's basketball team to a 2-0 week while averaging 20.5 points and shooting .552 from the field.

Beauford, who was named the America East Co-Player of the Week for his efforts, scored a career-high 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting as the Seawolves rallied from a 10-point second-half deficit to win at previously unbeaten Columbia, 77-73, Saturday. He also had 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 68-54 win over Army Wednesday.
