St. Bonaventure Slips By Women's Basketball 79-76

St. Bonaventure, N.Y. - Stephanie Collins buried the game-winning three-pointer with 20.4 seconds left in the game to lift St. Bonaventure over Stony Brook, 79-76, on Saturday night at the Reilly Center. With the loss, the Seawolves dropped to 1-5 on the season, while the Bonnies improved to 3-4.

The Seawolves led 41-35 at the break, but Collins came out shooting in the second, netting four three's in the opening minutes to help give St. Bonaventure it's largest lead of the game at 75-69 with 5:02 to play.

SB then used a 7-1 run to tie the game at 76 behind seven points by Mykeema Ford, including a three-pointer with 31.7 seconds remaining.

Collins responded by cooly draining another trey with 20.4 seconds on the clock to put the Bonnies back up 79-76.

The Seawolves had two chances to tie the game up, but they missed a three-point attempt and, after retaining possession on a jump ball, turned it over with under a second to play.

Jessica Smith and Inbar Orion each netted 20 points for SB, while Ford added 16 points and seven assists in the loss.

Collins finished with a game-high 29 points behind eight three-pointers. Tory Vyborny chipped in with 16 points for the Bonnies.

The Seawolves are back in action after the holidays when they travel to Miami, Fla., to compete in the Sun and Fun Classic hosted by Florida International on December 28-29.
