Men's Basketball Falls To BU, 75-64

BOSTON (AP) - Shaun Wynn scored a career-high 22 points and Boston University clinched at least a share of its third straight America East Conference regular season title with a 75-64 victory over Stony Brook on Thursday night.

The Terriers (22-4, 16-1) won their 11th straight and 22nd of 23 since starting the season 0-3.

Boston University pulled away from a 34-30 halftime lead with a 22-9 run. Wynn scored eight points in the run, including two 3-pointers, and Matt Turner scored five of his 15.

Stony Brook (8-18, 5-12) pulled within 68-59 with 3:28 left but could not get any closer.

Cori Spencer led the Seawolves with 15 points, and Mitchell Beauford and Mike Popoko each added 13.

Rashad Bell scored 12 points for BU.

Stony Brook led by seven points early in the first half, but the Terriers used an 11-2 run to take a 19-16 lead with 9:05 left in the half.

The Terriers can capture the conference title and the top seed for the tournament - to be held on BU's campus -with a win over Binghamton on Sunday or a Vermont loss.
