D.J. Munir Named To America East All-Championship Team

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook senior point guard D.J. Munir was named to the 2004 America East Men's Basketball All-Championship team following Sunday's Vermont-Maine final. Munir led the Seawolves to a win over UMBC and a stunning upset of No. 1 seed Boston University in the first two rounds of the America East tournament. He is the first Seawolf to earn America East All-Championship honors.

Munir hit the game-winning shot with 30 seconds remaining to help SB defeat No. 1 seed BU, 62-58, in the quarterfinals. He finished with 14 points, four rebounds and three assists while not committing a single turnover in the upset win. Munir had 16 points, five rebounds and three assists in SB's 65-59 win against UMBC in the first round.

Munir, a second-team all-conference pick for three straight seasons, finished his career with 1,590 points which ranks him fourth on the school's all-time scoring list.
