Stony Brook freshman goalkeeper Jen Sandtorv was named the America East Defender of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. Sandtorv averaged 12.0 saves and 4.0 ground balls per game while posting a .581 save percentage in the Seawolves' first three games this season.
Sandtorv made 36 saves in the Seawolves' first three outings and also collected a team-best 12 ground balls. The rookie goalkeeper made 14 saves and had eight ground balls in her first career win, a 7-3 decision over Long Island.
