Box Score

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Christina Macchia scored four goals to lead Sacred Heart to a 12-7 win in women's lacrosse action at LaValle Stadium Tuesday afternoon. The loss snaps Stony Brook's two-game winning streak to drop SB to 2-2 on the year. Sacred Heart improves to 5-2.

Macchia scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the game as the Pioneers jumped out to a 6-1 advantage after 15 minutes of play. Carlee Buck trimmed the lead to 6-2 at 7:52 of the first half but Macchia scored consecutive goals 48 seconds apart late in the half to extend SHU's lead to 8-2. Katie Pullen's goal with 35 ticks on the clock drew SB within 8-3 at the break.

After Jeanne Carroll put the Pioneers up 9-3 only 1:02 into the second half, Buck answered with her second goal of the game and Andrea Venditti scored less than a minute later to put the Seawolves within 9-5.
