The Stony Brook men's lacrosse team goes for its second straight win when it hosts conference rival Hartford at LaValle Stadium on Saturday. The Seawolves (5-5, 1-2) take on the Hawks (0-10, 0-3) in a game that is crucial to Stony Brook's playoff hopes. Face-off is 1 p.m.

Last Time Out: Jason Cappadoro scored five goals as Stony Brook outlasted Siena, 11-6, on a soggy Wednesday afternoon. Stony Brook led 4-3 when it scored four straight to take command of the game. Siena climbed within 9-6 in the fourth quarter but Cappadoro and George LaFlare added goals to seal the win.
About the Hawks: The Hawks are winless in 10 outings entering Saturday's game. Garett Kikot leads the team in scoring with 10 goals and seven assists while Chris Sauro is the team's top set-up man with 11 assists.
Five Alive: Cappadoro's five-goal outburst on Wednesday set a new single-game career high for goals. His previous high had been three goals which he has accomplished five times before the matchup against Siena. Cappadoro's five points gave him a team-leading 25 for the year and was his ninth straight multiple-point game of the season.
The Man In Goal: Freshman goalie Brendan Callahan has emerged as one of the best in the nation in 2004. In seven starts, he has compiled a 5-2 record to go along with an outstanding 5.90 GAA and .688 save percentage. He ranks second among all Division I goalies in each category entering today's play trailing Tim McGinniss (5.70 GAA) of Maryland and Greg Havalchak of Rutgers (.686 save %)
Conference Notes: Brendan Callahan ranks first in the America East in goals against average (5.90) and save percentage (.688) . . . Jason Cappadoro ranks fourth in assists per game (1.25) . . . Stony Brook ranks second in the league in ground balls per game (32.44).
We Like Mike: Michael Poch has improved with each and every game as the team's top face-off man. He has won 27 of his last 41 (.658) draws, including a 12-for-18 performance against Siena. He also dominated the game on the ground against the Saints, scooping up a career-high 15 ground balls.
Youth Is Served: Of Stony Brook's 69 goals, 35 (52 percent) have come from sophomores. Sophomores Cappadoro and Adam Marksberry have accounted for 31 goals this season.
If you add the freshmen class to the mix, then underclassmen have accounted for 54 of Stony Brook's 69 goals (78 percent).
