The Terriers' defense held Stony Brook to 30 percent shooting in the first half, smothering the Seawolves' offense in the early part of the game. BU jumped out to a 11-3 advantage over the first 5:20 of the game fueled by Brower's seven points during the run. A Chaz Carr three-pointer with 2:47 to go in the half gave BU a 29-15 advantage that increased to 33-19 at the break. It was the second straight game that the Seawolves failed to score 20 or more points in the first half.
The Seawolves chipped into the BU lead early in the second half. A jumper by Antwan Hardy pulled SB within 37-28 with 15:26 remaining, but the Seawolves could get no closer the nine points the rest of the way.
