Boston, Mass. - Larissa Parr led five Terriers in double-figure scoring with a career-high 24 points as the Boston University women's basketball team downed Stony Brook, 85-53, at Case Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. The Seawolves have now lost five straight to fall to 3-12 overall and 1-5 in America East play.
The Terriers (8-7, 3-3) shot a season-high 54.4 percent from the field and were credited with 25 assists on 36 baskets. Parr was 11-of-14 from the field, including a near perfect 6-of-7 from the floor in the second half.
B.U. raced out to an 18-4 lead at 13:58 in the first half and pushed the lead to 40-25 at the break. Parr had 11 points and five boards before intermission.
A three-pointer from Corinne Jean extended the lead to 63-31 at 11:41 in the second and the Terriers would lead by at least 25 points for the remainder of the game.
Jean finished with 15 points, all of which were scored in the second half. Adrienne Norris and Becky Bonner along with junior guard Rachael Vanderwal each scored 12 points.
Dana Ferraro posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in her first career start. Kelly Watson added 11 points while Jessica Smith chipped in with 10 in the loss.
The Seawolves are back in action on Wednesday when they host Northeastern at 7:00 p.m.
