The Stony Brook men's basketball team looks to snap a five-game losing streak when it hosts UMBC on Saturday. At halftime, Stony Brook will honor the 2004 America East championship baseball team with the presentation of their championship rings. Tip-off is 1 p.m.

Last Time Out: Stony Brook held a 26-25 halftime lead at Albany on Wednesday night, but the Great Danes shot over 58 percent in the second half and outrebounded SB 33-23 to post a 69-63 win. Bobby Santiago enjoyed his best game of the season, drilling five three-pointers en route to a game-high 20 points and six assists.
Versus UMBC: The series is tied 2-2 after UMBC posted a 74-67 win at UMBC earlier this season.
Last Time We Met: Stony Brook held a 13-point lead with just over 12 minutes remaining in the game, but the Retrievers rallied as the Seawolves scored only two baskets the rest of the way. UMBC put together an 18-2 run to take the lead and hold off the Seawolves for the win. Antwan Hardy scored a team-high 16 points in the loss, leading four Seawolves in double figures. Bobby Santiago (15), Mike Popoko (12) and Mike Orfini (12) also reached double figures.
Bobby Takes Aim: Bobby Santiago had one of his best games in a Seawolf uniform on Wednesday night. He scored a game-high 20 points, drilling five 3-pointers in the second half. His five treys equalled a career-high - he also hit five threes against Rhode Island College back in December of 2002.
Santiago also matched a career high with six assists.
Popoko Takes Offense: Sophomore forward Mike Popoko scored a season-high 16 points in the loss to Maine last Saturday and has been in double figures in the last three games. He has averaged 12.0 ppg. in his last three outings, well above his average of 8.1 per game.
Frosh Facts: Antwan Hardy has scored 219 points so far this season, an average of 11.5 points per game. He is on pace (322 points) to break Stony Brook's Division I scoring record for a freshman which is currently held by Mitchell Beauford. Beauford scored 303 points in 30 games last year. The record for most points per game as a freshman is held by D.J. Munir. Munir averaged 10.8 ppg. in 28 games in 2000-01.
Feist Connects: Hendrik Feist came off the bench to turn in one of his best efforts of the season. Feist was 3-for-3 from long range in 21 minutes of play against Albany for a season-high nine points.
