Sean Chamberlain scored three goals to lead 10 different Seawolves who found the back of the net as Stony Brook dominated Siena, 14-4, on Tuesday afternoon. The win improves Stony Brook to 7-3 on the season while Siena dropped to 2-8.
The Seawolves erased any doubt early in the contest as they roared out to a 9-0 advantage. Chris Tracey's goal at 12:41 ignited a six-goal spurt over the first 12 minutes of the game that saw SB build a 6-0 lead after one quarter. Adam Marksberry, Chamberlain and Ryan Maehr tacked on goals in the second quarter to give SB a 9-0 lead at the break.
Mike Kirschner and Kyle Hacker each scored their first goals of 2005 in the second half as the Seawolves held off Siena the rest of the way. Marksberry finished with two goals and three assists while Jason Cappadoro pitched in with a goal and three assists. Maehr totaled two goals and freshman goalie Matt Ural made five saves to earn his first collegiate victory.
The Seawolves are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Vermont. Face-off is 1 p.m.
