Boston University was able to sneak a goal past Marisa Viola in the 66th minute as the Stony Brook women's soccer team fell, 1-0, to the No. 12 Boston University Terriers on Saturday afternoon.
The Seawolves were outshot 22-3 as they fell to 5-4-1 on the season and 0-1 in America East play. The Terriers improve to 7-2-1 and 1-0 in conference.
Despite outshooting Stony Brook 10-1 in the first half, the two squads entered the locker room at halftime all knotted up at 0.
In the 66th minute of the contest, Lauren Erwin was able to get a shot past Viola for the only goal of the game. BU outshot Stony Brook 12-2 in the second half.
The Seawolves return to action on Thursday, September 28 when they take on Binghamton at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. The two squads are scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
