Women's Lacrosse Falls To #11 Boston University, 19-9

Boston, Mass. - Lauren Morton scored four of Boston University's first six goals to lead the #11 Terriers to a 19-9 win over the Stony Brook University women's lacrosse team at Nickerson Field on Wednesday afternoon. Stony Brook falls to 5-6, 0-4 in America East play while Boston University is 11-2, 4-0.

Boston University took a 6-0 lead midway through the first half before the Seawolves got on the board. Seniors Jenna Celano (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Diana Caroleo (North Babylon, N.Y.) scored just 17 seconds apart to cut the Terriers' lead to 6-2. Boston scored two more before the duo of Celano and Caroleo tallied goals to make the score, 8-4. Four goals in the last two minutes of the half gave the Terriers a 12-4 halftime lead.

B.U. scored three goals in a row to take an 11-goal advantage before Stony Brook went on a five straight-goal spurt. Freshman Melissa Cook (Bay Shore, N.Y.) had two of the Seawolves five goals. The Terriers scored the final four goals of the game.

Celano finished with a team-high three goals. Caroleo had two and juniors Amy Hallion (Glenelg, Australia) and Kaitlin Leggio (Bay Shore, N.Y.) each had a goal.

Stony Brook continues its America East slate when it travels upstate to face Binghamton on Saturday night. First draw control is scheduled for 7 pm.
