Bronx, N.Y. - The Stony Brook University men's cross country team competed in the 2009 Iona Meet of Champions at Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday morning. Senior Alex Felce (Stroud, England) was the top finisher for the Seawolves, who placed ninth out of 20 teams.

Felce completed the 8K race in 25:59.65, good for 15th overall. Senior Daire Bermingham (Portmarnock, Ireland) was the second Stony Brook runner to finish in the top-25, crossing 22nd with a time of 26:07.53. Defending America East champion Tim Hodge (Tawa, New Zealand) finished with a time of 26:26.36 (37th overall).

The men's team's next race is on October 9, when the Seawolves are back at Van Cortlandt Park, competing in the Metropolitan Championships. The women's squad races at the Notre Dame Invitational on October 2 in their next meet.
