Stony Brook, N.Y. - Less than five months after capturing its first-ever America East regular season championship, Stony Brook University's softball team will kick off its 2009 Fall Ball schedule with its Annual Alumni Game on October 3rd. The friendly scrimmage between current and former Seawolves is the start of an eight game fall schedule which was released by head coach Megan Bryant on Wednesday.

SBU's first fall tournament will be at C.W. Post on Sunday, October 11th. The Seawolves open the day with a 9:00 a.m. tilt against NYIT before finishing things off with a doubleheader against C.W. Post, which is scheduled to being at 3:00 p.m.

Stony Brook returns home the following weekend for a pair of tournaments on October 17th and 18th. On Saturday the Seawolves will face Adelphi at 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., sandwiching a game against Suffolk Community College at 1:30 p.m. Stony Brook faces C.W. Post for the third time on Sunday at noon before wrapping up its schedule at 2:30 p.m. with a game against Manhattan.

While the Seawolves lost a large chunk of its offense with the graduation of four seniors, they do return all three pitchers from last season's squad. The fall schedule will be key for the Seawolves as they have seven incoming freshmen who will be getting their first experience of playing at the collegiate level.
