Women's Cross Country Finishes First At Codfish Bowl

Boston, Mass. - The Stony Brook women's cross country team competed in the Codfish Bowl at Franklin Park on Saturday. At the site of the NCAA Regional Championships in November, juniors Holly Van Dalen and Lucy van Dalen (Wanganui, New Zealand) finished first and second on their way to leading the Seawolves to a first-place team finish.

Holly finished first with a time of 17:32.1 and Lucy was just two second behind, coming in at 17:34.2. Senior Laura Huet (Carrickmines, Ireland) took fourth with a time of 18:11.6 and junior Lisa Voltaire (Stockholm, Sweden) placed eighth in 18:33.2.

Both the men's and women's next meet is Friday, October 9 at the Metropolitan Championships at Van Cortlandt Park.
