Men's Basketball Travels To Take on Maine on Saturday

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook University's men's basketball team will look to rebound from its first conference loss on Saturday afternoon, traveling to take on the Maine Black Bears at Alfond Arena. Game time is set for 2 p.m. The game can be heard on WUSB 90.1 FM and goseawolves.org with Mike Solano and Jeff Bernstein `92 announcing. The game can also be followed online via gametracker and live video stream at www.goseawolves.org.

Last Time Out
Sophomore Bryan Dougher (Scotch Plains, N.J.) scored a team-high 21 points including the game-tying three with nine seconds left, but Greer Wright hit the game-winning jumper with two seconds remaining to give the Binghamton Bearcats a 64-62 victory over Stony Brook in America East Conference action on Tuesday night at the Events Center.

Dougher knocked down seven of his 12 three-point attempts for the Seawolves, who also got 16 points from senior Muhammad El-Amin (Lansing, Mich.). El-Amin was named Stony Brook's America East Player of the Game. Wright scored 27 points to lead the Bearcats.

A Look At Maine
Maine (9-6, 1-1 AE) enters Saturday's game off a 66-61 overtime victory at Binghamton on Sunday. The Black Bears have won four of their last five games, including a 52-51 win at Boston College on Jan. 2. Maine ranks third in the America East in scoring defense (64.5 points per game) and lead the conference in assists per game (13.1) and steals per game (8.0). Gerald McLemore is 10th in the America East in scoring (14.3 points per game) for the Black Bears, who are 3-2 at home.

Maine leads the all-times series, 12-7, but the Seawolves have won four of the last five meetings including the last two in Orono. El-Amin scored 22 points in both match-ups with the Black Bears last season. He scored 16 of his 22 points in the first half of the Seawolves' 70-59 win at Maine during which SBU scored 34 points off 20 Maine turnovers.
