A school and Big South-record four interceptions has earned freshman Davonte Anderson (Corona, Calif.) numerous national and conference awards on Monday.
The Sports Network named Anderson as Co-Defensive Player of the Week, while the College Football Performance Awards honored him as National Defensive and Defensive Back Performer of the Week.
Anderson also took home Big South Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Anderson picked off two passes in each half, which led to a total of 14 points. After falling behind 3-0 to Gardner-Webb, the Seawolves reeled off 55 unanswered points.
Stony Brook will travel to face Liberty on Saturday in search of its first outright Big South title. The game will be televised live on MASN (DirecTV 640 and Dish Network 432) at 3:30 p.m.
