Cambridge, Mass. -
Senior softball players Crista Cerrone (Floral Park, N.Y.) and Alyssa Struzenberg (Cooper City, Fla.) were named to the 2010 America East Softball All-Academic, announced the conference today. Struzenberg was one of four unanimous selections and made her third consecutive all-academic team. Cerrone and Struzenberg are two of the eleven-member team, all of whom excel both academically as well as athletically and represent the best of the America East Conference.
A biology major, Cerrone posted a 3.88 GPA and will be attending Stony Brook medical school this fall. She was an NFCA Scholar Athlete selection in 2007 and most recently was named to the America East All-Championship team this spring.
Struzenberg is a double major in business management and economics, earning a 3.85 GPA. She is a three-time NFCA All-Region selection and a two-time CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District honoree. Just yesterday, she was named as one of the three finalists for the America East Woman of the Year award.
