Stony Brook, N.Y. - Softball's seven-member graduating class of 2010 became the first class in program history to have every member donate back to Stony Brook Athletics, as announced on Wednesday. The winningest class in Seawolves softball history, the 2010 graduates include Kendall Blumenthal, Crista Cerrone, Jade Clare, Casey Jacobs, Vicki Kavitsky, Katelyn O'Donnell and Alyssa Struzenberg.

"Contributing to Stony Brook Athletics is essential to the continued growth and success of our program," said Andrea Lebedinski, Coordinator of Annual Giving and Branding. "It is the channel through which our fans and alumni can remain connected to our coaches and student-athletes, while providing them with a positive, meaningful experience during their time as Seawolves."

The Class of 2010 registered the most wins in a four-year span in Stony Brook softball history, chalking up 129 victories and a .623 winning percentage. In 2008, the squad won the school's first-ever America East softball championship and made an appearance in the NCAA Regional against Arizona State and Mississippi State. The team proceeded to win the America East regular season title the following year with a season-record 36 wins, before advancing to the conference final again as seniors in 2010.

"Not only was this class the most successful on the field in a four-year period, but all seven excelled in the classroom and have generously supported our Fund for Excellence," Stony Brook head softball coach Megan Bryant said. "These young women have all started successful careers and wanted to show their appreciation for Stony Brook Athletics and Seawolves softball. I'm really proud of this class, what a great initiative."

The Class of 2010 produced several of the most decorated student-athletes in Stony Brook softball history. Struzenberg ranks first in career wins (76), strikeouts (853), shutouts (26) and appearances (141), and also holds single-season records in wins (24) and shutouts (11). Kavitsky owns program bests in career stolen bases (67) and runs scored (148) and ranks sixth all-time with 98 career RBI. Jacobs tops the list for career saves with 11 and ranks eighth all-time with 21 career wins.

As a team, the Class of 2010 helped set numerous single-season records during their careers. In 2009, the pitching staff recorded a program-best 2.05 team ERA and 36 wins. The following season, the Seawolves posted 15 shutouts and 368 strikeouts, including 255 from Struzenberg and 49 from Jacobs. Offensively, the 2009 team set records with the most doubles (79) and RBI (231) in a single season.
