Kickoff
The Stony Brook football team hosts Lafayette on Saturday afternoon as part of Wolfstock 2011, the annual Homecoming event. The Seawolves are coming off a 21-20 loss to Brown. Junior Miguel Maysonet rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown, and junior Kyle Essington ran for his second touchdown in three games. Junior Wesley Skiffington kicked two extra points and two field goals. He has 151 points and is six points shy of breaking Mike Soto's school record. Sophomore Jawara Dudley made a career-high 14 tackles.
The Opponent
Lafayette earned its first season of the season, 37-12, over Penn, after losing at North Dakota State and Georgetown. First-time quarterback Andrew Shoop, who stepped in for Ryan O'Neil, threw for 230 yards and four touchdown passes. Mark Ross caught two TDs as well as 126 yards. Kyle Simmons made 15 tackles and recorded two interceptions, one for a touchdown, against the Quakers. All six offensive touchdowns for Lafayette have come in the air.
The Series
Lafayette won last year's meeting, 28-21, in Easton. Junior Michael Coulter, who rushed for his second career touchdown, threw two touchdown passes in a game Stony Brook never led. Brock Jackolski had 104 yards on just 15 carries. Matt Brevi led all receivers with 75 yards. Jawara Dudley was named the Big South Freshman of the Week after making 12 tackles against the Leopards.
