Junior defensive lineman Jonathan Coats (Elmira Heights, N.Y.) and senior cornerback Donald Porter (Charles Town, W. Va.) were honored by the College Football Performance Awards on Tuesday. Both were named honorable mention at their position.
Coats picked up a sack and had a 14-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown against UTEP on Saturday. The touchdown gave Stony Brook its biggest lead of the game, 24-10.
Porter, who missed almost all of last season with an injury, recorded two interceptions against the Miners. One of his INTs came on fourth and goal from the two.
The Seawolves return to action on Saturday when they take on Buffalo at 6:00 p.m.
