About the Game
Stony Brook celebrates Senior Day and searches for its sixth straight win as it takes on Albany in the regular season finale. Prior to the game, Stony Brook will honor Ron Bracey, Tommy Brenton, Leonard Hayes and Marcus Rouse in what could be their final game at Pritchard Gymnasium. A win today will set a new Div. I Stony Brook record for wins in a season and tie last season's Stony Brook squad for most America East wins in a season. This is the 60th all-time meeting between the two teams, and the Great Danes lead the series 34-25, but the Seawolves have won five straight.
Scouting Albany
The Great Danes are enjoying their finest season in a while, winning 20 games for the first time since the 2006-07 season. With a win over Stony Brook, Albany will also reach the 10-win mark in America East for the first time since the 2007-08 season. Since losing to Stony Brook on Jan. 29, the Great Danes have rebounded to take five of their last seven games, though only one of those five wins have been against teams with a winning record. Although Albany continues to be guard heavy - Mike Black and Jacob Iati combine to equate for 41.6% of Albany points this season - Sam Rowley has stepped up his game in conference play, where he is averaging 10.7 points and 8.2 rebounds.
Last Time Out
Tommy Brenton produced 14 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists, and the Stony Brook defense mauled Boston University in the first half en route to a 33-5 run. Stony Brook went on to defeat the Terriers 71-55 to claim the outright America East regular season championship. It was Brenton's second straight double-double with seven assists. The Seawolves shot 52.2% for the game outrebounded the Terriers 40-23 and limited them to 38.2% shooting, including 23.3% in the first half. Jameel Warney led all scorers with 15 points on 6-of-6 shooting.
