About the Game

• Stony Brook returns seven letterwinners, including the America East Player of the Year, as it opens the 2014-15 season in its new home against Columbia.
• With no seniors and five freshmen, Stony Brook enters the year as one of the youngest teams in all of Div. I. 
• This is the inaugral game in the newly renovated Island Federal Credit Union Arena, which underwent a two-year, $21.1 million facelift. 
• For the second straight year and only the fifth time in the program’s 16-year Div. I history is Stony Brook opening the season with a home game. The #Seawolves are 4-0 in season opening home games.
• The #Seawolves are 18-16 all-time against members of the Ivy League.

• Stony Brook will win its season opener for the third consecutive season and the eighth time in 16 season openers as a Div. I program.
• The #Seawolves will improve to 9-6 all-time against Columbia and 19-16 all-time against members of the Ivy League.
• It will be Stony Brook’s 37th win in its last 42 home games, which dates back to the start of the 2011-12 season.

• WFAN Radio personality and co-host of "Boomer and Carton in the Morning" Craig Carton will be the host of Friday's night's Island Federal Credit Union Arena opener. Fans with tickets in the VIP suites will be able to mingle with Carton from 6-7 p.m. Then Carton will be involved in programming during media timeouts and halftime.

• The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for fans to enjoy stilt walkers, face painters, airbrush tatoo artists, the new expanded concession areas, the VIP Lounge and the new Seawolves Den.
