Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook #Seawolves (2-1) used a 52 point second half to pull away for an 82-68 victory over the Columbia Lions and improve to 2-0 at the new Island Federal Credit Union Arena. Caroline McCombs’ Reaction
“I’m just really proud of how we persevered through a lot of things early. We came out in the second half and corrected some of the things we talked about at halftime. As a group, everybody contributed in some way or another. I am really proud of how we fought through some of the things that were going on throughout the game to get the win.”
On the strong second half
“We started making the right reads, making the easy play and taking the easy shot. It was just about our girls having some composure on the offensive end and then really buckling down and getting some stops on defense.”
On the team’s balanced scoring contributing to the win
“I think we had some good rotations going. Some of that was because of things outside our control but it allowed us to get into our bench and keep people fresh. I think what happened was Sabre was fresh late in the game. She came in and gave us that boost in the second half.”
