Stony Brook heads West to face No. 13 Washington Sunday

Tipoff: 
The Stony Brook men's basketball team will make its longest regular-season trip in school history when it faces No. 13 Washington Sunday night. The game will be televised live on the Pac-12 Network.

Last Time Out:
Junior Carson Puriefoy (Wenonah, N.J.) had 13 of his game-high 18 points in the second half as the Stony Brook men's basketball team extended its home winning streak to six with a 59-47 victory over American Tuesday night at Island Federal Credit Union Arena.

Puriefoy reached double figures for the fourth straight game and ninth out of the last 10.

Junior Jameel Warney (Plainfield, N.J.) accounted for his nation-leading 11th double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds and added four assists and two blocks.

Stony Brook (7-6) won its 35th straight game when holding an opponent under 60 points.

The Seawolves outscored the Eagles, 34-22, in the second half.

Stony Brook outrebounded American, 36-20. The Eagles accounted for three offensive rebounds.

Opponent: Washington matched its best start in school history (2005-06) with a 66-57 win over Tulane this past Monday to move to 11-0.  Nigel Williams-Goss leads four scorers in double figures with 13.9 points per game.  The Huskies join the Seawolves as two of Division I's top rebounding teams. UW is averaging 40.5 rpg, while Stony Brook is averaging 40.7.  Robert Upshaw leads the country with 4.6 blocks per game.  Sunday's game will mark the third game in three seasons for Washington against an America East school. 

Series: 
Sunday night's game will be the first between Stony Brook and Washington and the first against a Pac-12 school since Utah, which was then a member of the Mountain West Conference, in the 2004-05 season opener.
