Stony Brook, N.Y. - Former Stony Brook men's basketball student-athlete Patrick Cunningham '93 has been named one of five new members of the Stony Brook Alumni Association Board of Directors. Cunningham, who has been associated with the alumni association for many years, will serve a three-year appointment on the board.
The Alumni Association engages alumni in the life of Stony Brook University and its students, encouraging alumni to maintain lifelong connections with Stony Brook and to support the university's goals. Its board of directors plays a key role in planning and organizing alumni programs and services, while establishing and maintaining the association’s fiscal policies and procedures.
Cunningham is currently the senior vice president of sales for Lucera Financial Infrastructure, located in Manhattan. He has over 15 years of experience in capital markets and has outstanding mentoring and motivational skills that will serve the alumni board well.
Cunningham, who earned a bachelor's degree in psychology, lettered for Stony Brook in the early 1990s and was named team MVP for the 1992-93 season, during which the team advanced to the ECAC Championship. Cunningham is very active with Stony Brook's men's basketball alumni, and, as a season ticket holder, he can be found at many #Seawolves games today.
