Baltimore, Md. -- Senior Sabre Proctor posted game highs of 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Stony Brook women's basketball team to a 66-50 victory at UMBC Wednesday night at RAC Arena.
Junior Brittany Snow finished with 16 points and nine boards, and sophomore Kori Bayne-Walker chimed in with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists for Stony Brook (9-7, 2-1 America East).
Liz McNaughton and Capree Garner led UMBC (5-11, 0-3) with 14 points apiece.

"We followed our game plan and took high percentage shots. We focused on ourselves and just playing Stony Book basketball. We will enjoy this win tonight and then get back after it in practice tomorrow as we prepare for Saturday's home game against Maine."
Turning Point
Dana Lewis hit a pair of free throws to give the Retrievers a 33-32 edge with 16:48 to play. However, Snow responded with a jump shot on the other end and Proctor hit a layup and mid-range jump shot to give Stony Brook a five-point advantage, 38-33, at 14:53.
Garner got UMBC back on the board with a bucket at the 14:28 mark, but layups by Snow and Miranda Jenkins put Stony Brook in front, 42-35, with 13:36 left. After an Amanda Hagman basket brought the Retrievers to within five, 42-37, Proctor fed Snow for a layup at 11:58 and Bayne-Walker followed with one of her own to extend the lead to nine, 46-37, with 11:03 on the clock.
Hagman struck again at 9:59 to cut the margin to seven, 46-39, but Snow and Alyssa Coiro hit jumpers as SBU took the first double-digit lead of the night by either team, 50-39, at 8:26.
A Pandora Wilson sliced the advantage to nine, 50-41, but Proctor put in a layup to get the lead back to double figures, 52-41, with 5:38 remaining. The Seawolves led by at least 11 points the rest of the way and took their largest lead of the game, 66-49, when Bayne-Walker hit two free throws at 1:23.

- The Seawolves led, 29-26, at halftime but outscored the Retrievers, 37-24, in the second half.
