Head Coach Caroline McCombs' Reaction
"I'm proud of our effort. I thought we competed the whole game. They made one more play at the end, and that's all that you need."

Turning Point
With 10:41 left, Hanlon nailed her fourth 3-pointer of the night to give Stony Brook a 49-43 advantage. A pair of Bayne-Walker free throws at 9:27 extended the Seawolves lead to eight, 51-43, their largest of the night.

The Hawks used a 15-4 run and went ahead, 58-55, when Bepko put in a pair of free throws at 2:21.

With the score the same and 56 ticks on the clock, Scognamiglio nailed a triple to even the score at 58-58. Sabre Proctor blocked a Janelle Harrison shot on the other end, but Harrison got the offensive rebound and Deanna Mayza hit a jumper to put the Hawks back in front, 60-58, with 30 seconds remaining.

Bayne-Walker missed a layup with 14 seconds to play, but the offensive board went Stony Brook's way and McCombs called a pair of timeouts. Proctor's 3-pointer at the buzzer was off the mark, and Hartford escaped with the win.
