Warwick, R.I. - Junior Elizabeth Caldwell (Glen Head, N.Y.) crossed the line first in the women’s 5K as the Stony Brook men’s and women’s cross country teams both captured second-place team finishes at the Rothenberg Run Friday at Goddard State Park.
Coach Ronan’s Take
“The women's team competed well today. They were involved from the beginning and were unlucky to lose the meet by three points. In particular, I thought Liz Caldwell ran very well… This performance should do a lot for her confidence going into the conference championships.
“The men got off to a slow start and except for Mitch Kun and Joe Clarke they never really got involved enough to win the meet. A big positive was the performance of Joe Clarke. This was by far his best run over the 8K distance… This is a timely boast to the squad heading in to the America East.”
